PHSC 403 - Pharmaceutical Biochemistry I Credits: 3 Focuses on the basic principles of protein structure and function, and an introduction to molecular mechanisms of drug action. Review of key concepts in general and organic chemistry, properties of drugs, amino acid, protein structure, enzyme function (catalysis), carbohydrates and their metabolism, electron transport and some regulatory mechanisms will be discussed.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 301 with a minimum grade of a ‘C’.
