ELEM 305 - Introduction to Literacy
Credits: 3
This foundational reading course is designed to provide candidates with an overview of the scienticifically validated processes involved in teaching reading, including alphabetics, fluency, and comprehension. Upon completion, students will be able to describe and demonstrate phonological and phonemic awareness, phonic and structural analysis, fluency-building strategies, and vocabulary instruction.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Educator Preparation Program
