ENGL 216 - Introduction to Rhetoric and Composition Credits: 3 This course builds on the lessons learned in Composition I and II to teach students about awareness of style, voice, purpose, and rhetoric as choices the writer makes. Students will explore a variety of genres- speeches, essays, non-fiction texts, and media, and identify topics, stances, support, and how the format fits the rhetoric and purpose. In addition to reading and responding to a variety of genres, students will create a variety of texts demonstrating knowledge of how format, genre, audience, and purpose should inform writing.
