CHEM 430 - Introduction to Medicinal Chemistry Credits: 3 Introduce undergraduate seniors and juniors to a complete course in medicinal chemistry, from first principles of drug action, to design and development, and to specific drugs. The course covers the structures and functions of important drug targets such as receptors, enzymes and nucleic acids, as well as pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic properties of drugs. General principles that apply in the discovery, design, and development of new drugs as well as classes of drugs will be discussed.
